Pheasant keeper and vermin controller required (due to retirement)

The Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales has an opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative pheasant keeper and vermin controller who is capable of identifying opportunities and is proud to work to the highest standards.

Predominantly reserved for the Duke of Devonshire’s family (with some let days) the traditionally run shoot is well regarded for its high pheasants and emphasis on ensuring days are relaxed and fun.

The successful individual will be joining a team comprising the headkeeper, 5 grouse beatkeepers and shepherd. First rate vermin control is demanded in support of the efforts of the wider team and the Estate’s woodland.

An attractive package (including house, vehicle, dog and fuel allowance) is offered to the right candidate.

Current shotgun and firearms certificates as well as a full UK driving licence are required. Expected commencement February/March 2025.
